I've successfully used MPlayer on my N800 to watch the following films (Axxo-Rips downloaded via Bittorrent) in Fullscreen: - The Simpsons - 300 - The Bourne Ultimatum The video quality is excellent - or at least it didn't hinder me to enjoy these films very much.

With up to 45 hours of music playback, storage for up to 7,500 songs1 and built-in GPS, the Nokia N810 is perfect for the person on the go. It will receive podcasts.

And while the N810's thinness is one of its strong points, holding it by the keyboard for extended periods becomes uncomfortable for me because it's a little too thin (which worsens the button-placement" issue" ).

The display is really excellent, best of any current PDA.

The N810 is still a very good product, but not enough to justify the $450 price tag when the N800 can be purchased for under $250.

The other notable feature is the screen resolution, which looks pretty fantastic.

Both of these are nice and do what they are supposed to do, but the hardware keyboard is so good I see little need for them.

Much of this good performance is courtesy of the N810's 400 MHz processor, which is enough to handle most of what I've thrown at it.

In layman's terms, the N810 is capable of giving you a web browsing experience that's very close to what you're accustomed to on your desktop.

What I find more useful is the N810's ability to play Real Video and Real Audio, as there's an endless supply of good content in these formats online.

Nokia says the N810 supports up to 8 GB cards, but it's probably just being conservative, as 8 GB is the highest capacity SDHC cards currently available.

And, unlike the iPhone/iPod Touch, the N810 supports Flash Video, so accessing the main YouTube site was also possible.

In addition, the N810 supports third-party applications, which currently include a number of alternative media players.

One very nice touch (which I was unaware of at the time of review) is that the N810 also supports the Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) standard, meaning that the device can operate as a media sever to share audio, video and photos with a PlayStation 3 for example.

Overall the interface is fairly well designed, easy to operate and the hardware keyboard while sporting very small buttons is decent in actual use.

Additionally as mobile technology improves, paired mobile device can be upgraded without replacing the N810.

The only things the n800 was missing were a keyboard and GPS.

Overall, I think that the N810 is a relatively impressive device, but the mediocrity of the built-in keyboard and the limitations of the free GPS software detract from the value of the most significant changes between the N800 and the N810.

The primary disadvantage of the N810 running Linux is the lack of third-party software.

But, like I said earlier, this handheld's outstanding web browser and on-line services go a long way toward making up for any lack of third-party software.

Another complaint with this application is its rudimentary scheduling capabilities.

With its highly desirable slide-out keyboard, looks like some tough competition for the iPod touch.

If the one thing you wish the N800 had was a keyboard, then the N810 is a tempting upgrade.

Despite the obvious lack of telephony features, which is a major drawback for some consumers, the N810 nevertheless works well as a VoIP phone with some help from Skype.

With a reasonable price tag, the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet is a complement to smart phones which lacks some of the features required for serious browsing.

The browser software has a size-related problem.

The size of the text is another problem caused by the screen size.

Mapping software is incredibly slow and hogs RAM If I have it running, it will prevent me from launching other apps in some cases.

The lack of phone capabilities is a drawback.

Also the top row of keys seem to be too close to the to the edge of the screen making it slightly annoying to type at times.

But the lack of PIM and document reading software, and the N810's problematic third-party software in general, may keep it from taking the PDA world by storm.

And sometimes the N810 just spewed error messages at me (" installation file corrupted" ).

You can listen through the speaker or included earbuds, but the N810 lacks stereo Bluetooth.

Meet the N810 Today a next step in the evolution of this hardware has been announced and for people that lamented the lack of a thumb keyboard in the previous two devices the news is especially welcome.

When the keyboard is pushed out for use it places these buttons under the trailing edge of the display which makes it difficult to find and also difficult to activate these buttons.
